.40 caliber CCW pistol. Full specs can be found at Kahr's website.
I bought mine at Al & Bob's in Grand Rapids for $563.00. 5+1 in a package that's even smaller than the Kel-Tec PF-9 (but a little wider and significantly heavier.)
You simply cannot "limp wrist" this gun or it will not operate properly. I found that adding a hogue hand-all jr. to the grip and "shooting it like a man" makes all the difference in the world.
I can shoot it single-handed, right with no issues at all. I find that single-handed, left I occassionally get a failure to battery that's quickly solved by tapping the back of the slide with my thumb. This can all still be done quickly with one hand as long as you recognize the problem before pulling the trigger. It might also be worth noting that I am right-handed.
I've also had a few other people fire the pistol, including 2 females. Two-handed, no one had a problem with the gun (after adding the hogue hand-all jr. grip.)
After about 200 rounds, I noticed some peening of the guide rod by the larger of the 2 recoil springs. I contacted Kahr and was told that it's normal for the firearm.
Overall, considering size and caliber, I give this gun a "10" after the addition of the hogue hand-all jr. I wouldn't even consider this gun without that particular $8.00 accessory.
A well armed militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. <= That says I can OWN IT and CARRY IT. Einstein said the definition of insanity is "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." |
